Peel Regional Police said that both Kaur and Singh were found dead in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to Peel Police, Singh murdered Kaur before killing himself. However, the police have not released the cause of death.
“It has been determined that she was the victim of a homicide,” Insp. Marty Ottaway said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“The male deceased murdered the female victim. I can confirm the two parties had been in an intimate relationship in the past…we don’t believe they were still involved in an intimate relationship.”
Sharanjeet Kaur was reported missing a day before her body was discovered.
The Toronto Police on December 9 had sought public help in locating 27-year-old Sharanjeet Kaur.
Peel Police also told that they were called to the residence on Bighorn not on the missing person report, but for the medical issue.
Kaur is the 13th victim of a domestic-related homicide in the region this year, totalling the homicide victim to 27.
“There was no history with domestic issues, and both were not known to police…there were no warning signs that we were aware of,” Ottaway said.
Ottaway further added that they have no evidence how she ended up at the house as he doesn’t believe she had been abducted.
Meanwhile, the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are investigating the incident.
